PhD in Information and Communication Technologies Thesis: Advanced Technology Ecosystems LLB in Business Law, London Guildhall University With over two decades of experience, Dr Suárez specialises in tech strategy, venture building and the exploration of new tech markets.
Dr. Suárez leads BluSpecs, a strategic advisory firm that operates at the nexus of advanced technology development, business and policy. She is also the lead of INSTAR, a European Commission funded initiative that aims to support and deliver on the promise of Europe’s Digital Partnerships with strategic international partners by developing effective pathways to collaborate on international standards on AI, Data, Quantum, IoT and Edge technologies and 5G/6G.
She is the founder and CEO of IoT Tribe, an equity-free deeptech accelerator building technology ecosystems for corporates and governments, headquartered in London with offices in Singapore. Current programmes include Janus, a dual-use accelerator for the Ministry of Defence and NATO DIANA. A seasoned contributor to ecosystem events, Dr Suárez has delivered keynotes and moderated panels for renowned platforms including The Economist, the AI Summit, and the Global IoT & Edge Summit.
Dr. Suárez holds positions on several boards, including Trinity Business School, and is a governing board member of the Quantum Industry Consortium. She previously served on the board of the Alliance of Cloud, Edge, and IoT Innovation (AIOTI), an industry body that champions the Cloud to Edge AI- IoT ecosystem in Europe, where she continues to provide strategic guidance.
Since 2018, Dr Suárez has been a jury member for the European Innovation Council (EIC) and is now a jury member for STEP scale up, a new initiative co-investing in strategic technology scaleups with tickets of € 10-30M. Dr Suárez is recognised as a WEF European Digital Leader and is an active member of Tech London Advocates and Tech Quantum Advocates.

Dr. Homer (Omiros) Papadopoulos is a Research Director at NCSR Demokritos (www.demokritos.gr) and co-founder of Syndesis Ltd (www.syndesis.eu). Dr. Papadopoulos holds a Physics degree and a Pre-PhD in Telecommunications from the University of Athens, an MBA from Warwick University, and a PhD from the IS/IT Department of Bath University, UK. He is an experienced researcher and development manager with a demonstrated history in AI, cybersecurity, mobile services, and telecommunication networks with over 20 years of experience in creating multidisciplinary research programs.
Living and working in Athens, is partner in the Greek QCI network (HellasQCI) leading WP6 and T3.4 on Standards and serves as a mandated expert in CEN-CENELEC JTC22 on Quantum Technologies and ISO/IEC JTC3 for Greece. He also leads the Standards Working Group for the European Quantum Industry Consortium (www.euroquic.org), participates in the High-Level Forum on European Standardisation, and the European Multi-Stakeholder Platform on ICT Standardisation. Dr. Papadopoulos has successfully coordinated EU-funded projects and published several papers in journals and international conferences.

Minghan LiCAS Quantum Network Co., Ltd. / Deputy Chief Engineer
Dr. Minghan Li graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China and is a senior engineer with expertise in the research and industrialization of quantum information technologies, including quantum secure communication and quantum random number generation. He currently serves as the Deputy Chief Engineer at CAS Quantum Network Co., Ltd.
Dr. Li has extensive experience in both Chinese and international quantum information standardization work. He is the chief editor of the Terminology Group of the "Quantum Information Technologies for Networks Focus Group" at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and Convener of ISO/IEC JTC3 WG13 QRNG, and also the member of the Quantum Computing and Metrology of Standardization Administration of China, Secretary of the Chinese Quantum Information Network Industry Alliance.

Kazutomo HasegawaChair of the Standardization Recommendations & Alliances WG
Joining Fujitsu Limited in 1996, he worked on R&D for network technologies and engaged in international standardization, following his experience as a Visiting Researcher at Stanford University. He served as Editor for ITU-T Recommendations G.986 and Y.4409, and as Project Leader for ISO 37153 Ed. 2. Subsequently, he served as Co-convenor of IEC/SEG 14/WG 2 on Quantum Technology, and currently serves as Secretary of the IEC/ISO JTC 3 Japan National Committee. He also holds the role of Standards Director at Intellectual Property Strategy Office of Fujitsu Limited.

Ivana MijatovicThe University of Belgrade / Ph.D.
Ivana Mijatović is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade (UBFON). She is a passionate educator in the field of standardization, teaching at the bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels. At UBFON, she has developed an innovative Standardization course that incorporates active learning methods and gamification elements.
Professor Mijatović leads the UB FOS team in several international projects, including the Horizon Europe initiatives HSbooster.eu (Standardisation Booster for H2020 & HE research results), Edu4Standards.EU (Education for Standardisation in the EU), and IAM4RE.eu (Intellectual Asset Management For Research And Entrepreneurship).
From 2012 to 2023, she served as Vice President of the Board of the European Academy for Standardization (EURAS). In 2018/2019, she was President of the International Cooperation in Education about Standardization Committee (ICES).
She is a member of national mirror committee in relation with ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 7; CEN/TC 353; CEN/TC 365, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 36 and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 40 IT. Her current academic work addresses the question of standardization, education about standardization, teaching quality and quality aspects of technology enhanced learning.

Xavier PiednoirETSI / Director International Projects
Xavier Piednoir is Director of International Projects at ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). He has extensive experience working in the field of ICT standardization, particularly related to Smart Cards, IoT, and interoperability testing. Before his current role, he worked as a Smart Card Engineer at France Telecom R&D. He has served as a Technical Officer at ETSI for several years before taking responsibility for Partnerships and External Relations. Under the Policy Affairs Division, his responsibilities include leading ETSI's international projects and cooperation, supporting standardization in emerging technologies, and representing ETSI in global forums.

Emi YoshinoNTT Precision Medicine / Senior Manager
Joined NTT East, a Japanese telecommunications company, in 2008. Engaged in research and development of services utilizing telecommunications technology and various data.
From 2021 to 2024, seconded to the Telecommunication Technology Committee (TTC). Responsible for planning and strategy. Conducted surveys and workshops and made policy recommendations to the government regarding the development of human resources for standardization.
Returned to the NTT Group in 2024. Joined NTT Precision Medicine, a company providing services utilizing medical data. Responsible for building a new medical data infrastructure.

Capacity building efforts on technology standards in Australia
The Australian Government Deparlment of lndustry, Science and Resources has put in place a Tech Standards Knowledge Program to support Australian technical experts developing international standards for critical technologies. The Program equips experts with knowledge that can help them better engage in standards setting forums, improving their situational awareness and diplomatic skills. This presentation will provide details of the program, how the courses it offers build capacity on tech standards and about the experts that participate in the program.
